A reminder to tune in
For most musicians, each practice session starts with tuning. They start by making a few noises, seeing what comes up, and then tuning their instruments back to alignment. The tuning commences and focuses the practice. Our bodies work in a similar way.
We had the pleasure of gathering as a team a few weeks ago to workshop through somatics - workshopping how we can use the physical body through intentional movement to influence our mindstate. You may have already started to see some more breathing, shaking, tapping - and other tools for self connection. These are just scraping the surface here. We’re loving building out our programming, and seeing what lands with you all.
What tools do you use to tune back in?
What’s Inspiring Us:
Eric: “Few things! My brother who is chasing his dreams. The Olympics and Greys Anatomy (again)”
Lisa: “I would say a friend of mine. She’s going through a lot personally but still shows up for her friends. It’s inspiring to see her strength and also how much she values her friendships”
Anna: “Olympic track athletes! They’re inspiring me to push my boundaries to see what I’m capable of physically + mentally”
Eleanor: "On a less serious note, I'm inspired by and cannot wait for this Quavo x Lenny Kravitz remix to drop"
